Course Aims:
To enable participants to carry out a roadside breakdown on customer premises or on the motorway/roadside efficiently and safely without causing risk of injury to themselves or others.
Participants must have a qualification equivalent to IMI in Truck Tyre Fitting or Car and Van Tyre Fitting before attending the course.
Course Content:
- Pre and post course assessment
- Health and Safety including Manual Handling
- Preparation prior to setting off
- Ensure breakdown vehicle is in good working order and all equipment has been checked
- Obtaining information on type of vehicle, type of load, tyre problem, tyre size and exact location
- Informing authorities if appropriate
- Fitters requirements (PPE) (Health & Safety)
- Listing of all equipment
- Position of vehicle on arrival
- Coning off area
- Carrying out wheel removal
- On completion replace all tools and dispose of old tyre/debris
- Leave roadside/motorway safely
- Inform authorities upon completion
- Test to NTDA standards
Course Outcomes:
- On completion of this course the participants will achieve the NTDA REACT Licence
- Certificated for CPD purposes

1-2 days – dependent upon content. A distance learning package can be used for part of this course to enable candidates with prior knowledge to achieve the qualification in 1 day
